Hyaluronic acid, for example, can bind up to 1000x times its own weight in water which boosts and maintains skin hydration levels, accelerates tissue repair and cell regeneration.
Fucus Serratus Seaweed extract boosts hydration, and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties while Hebridean spring water, which is locally sourced from a natural healing well, is rich in mineral content.
Lus Nan Laogh has anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and antioxidant effects to improve the condition of the skin.
Shea butter, which is non-comedogenic, is rich in vitamins A, E and F, and fatty acids, and repairs skin. Prickly pear oil is hydrating, antibacterial and antioxidant. It contains vitamin K and can brighten skin whilst also reducing inflammation.
Rose geranium essential oil balances skin’s natural oil production and is anti-bacterial, healing and brightening for the skin.
Frankincense essential oil can reduce skin redness and skin sensitivity, and argan oil is nourishing, moisturising and can reduce excess sebum.
Almond oil offers a high phenol content and firms, brightens and reduces fine lines. Safflower oil and thistle oil have a high phenol content and work to prevent moisture loss. Jojoba oil has a high phenol content too, and offers anti-bacterial and antioxidant protection to the skin, while glycerin helps with moisture retention and is healing and protecting.
