Restore the balance of your body with the power of magnetic healing
Biomagnetic therapy, sometimes better known as biomagnetic healing, uses magnets to neutralise the pH level of your internal organs and, consequently, rebalance the body. Developed by Dr Isaac Goiz in 1988, through his clinical work which has spanned more than 25 years, the theory behind the practice is that by neutralising the pH levels in your body with magnets, it supports a cellular environment with a balanced or neutral pH level of seven – which makes it’s harder for bacteria, parasites, fungus and viruses to develop, as they prefer acidic or alkaline environments. During the session, a set of magnets (one positive polarity and one negative) are applied to the exit and entry points of where a condition has been identified by the therapist. “Biomagnetism can be used to treat all types of conditions,” says Deb Collins, a biomagnetic pair therapist (biomagneticpairtherapylondon.com ). “It can treat infections brought about by the presence of pathogens, oxidative stress (an imbalance of free radicals and antioxidants in the body), psycho-emotional issues, gland dysfunctions, damage to your peripheral nerves, acute or chronic inflammation, sprains and, or, fractures. The only time biomagnetic therapy isn’t advised is if you have a pacemaker fitted, as the magnets can interfere with the device, and if you’ve had chemotherapy in the past three years, but rest assured, your full medical history will be taken before you begin any sessions with a qualified therapist.”

Everything you need to know about your first session
First-time goers should expect to remove watches, jewellery and socks before your session starts – sometimes patients are asked to wear flat, leather shoes to aid the therapy, but that’s not always the case. To begin, you’ll lie flat on a bed, while the therapist scans the body to find any imbalanced points. “If there is an imbalance in the body, then the right leg might be shorter than the left,” says Deb. “The therapist will then place the magnets accordingly to restore the body’s equilibrium.
This process is repeated until the entire body has been scanned and the affected areas re-balanced. There should be no pain or discomfort caused in the process, although you may feel a slight tingling sensation.
“Once the treatment is complete, the magnets are removed, and your therapist will discuss their findings with you and any followup appointments arranged,” says Deb. One session normally lasts for an hour and a half, and there are normally six sessions, depending on your imbalance and the results that you want.
“Patients feel quite tired and groggy after the therapy, but that tends to be the result of the body detoxifying. The feeling goes away after a few days, and people say they feel lighter and less tired following regular sessions.”
