Maca Energy Super Bowl

Start your day the right way with this bowl full of goodness

Start your day the right way with this bowl full of goodness

This bowl, put together by nutritional physiologist Rick Hay (rickhay.co.uk), is full of fibre to regulate blood sugar and help with sustained energy release, which is good for digestive health and helps to keep your mood steady. Packed with flavour and goodness, it will also keep you full.

You’ll need:

Half a cup of oats
150 ml water or almond milk
1 tsp maca root powder
2 tsp chia seeds
1 handful of coconut or quinoa flakes
1 handful of cranberries or sultanas
1 handful of raspberries and blueberries
1 date, chopped and pitted
1 tsp coconut yoghurt

Method:

In a saucepan, gently heat the oats in the water or almond milk
Transfer the contents to a bowl and stir in the maca and chia seeds
Add the coconut or quinoa flakes, chopped date and cranberries or sultanas
Finish with the blueberries, raspberries and coconut yoghurt on top
Allow to soak for five minutes before tucking in!
