The silly season is almost upon us, which means more time spent in front of the mirror getting ready for all those parties!

The fun of putting on the glitz and glamour is what this time of year is all about, however it’s also the time when our skin starts to feel a tad winter worn and in desperate need of a little pick me up.
My favourite moisturizer is Planet Skincare Platinum crème excellence (£125, www.planetskincare.co.uk ) which I won’t go through winter without because it not only has an instant replumping effect on dehydrated skin but also contains Synake – a serum that stops facial muscle contractions from being quite so active. The result is quite simply smoother, firmer skin.
The first product that I reach for when making up a celebrity client for a party is an illuminator like Becca Shimmering skin perfector in moonstone (£33, www.beccacosmetics.com ). Simply apply all over the face before using foundation and the subtle, light reflective particles will impart a candlelight glow onto the complexion, whatever the lighting at the party.
A foundation should look natural, have great coverage and also be durable enough to last all night long. Youngblood Liquid Mineral Foundation (£35, www.ybskin.com ) has all the benefits of a mineral powder foundation with the sheer, creamy finish that only a liquid can provide.
Perhaps the most important party product of all is a hard wearing mascara and my current favourite is Studio 78 Paris Mascara (£21, www.beingcontent.com ). Not many mascaras create lashes that are full, fanned out and separated but this one does… and stays smudge free no matter how hard you party.
