You’ve probably heard that drinking at least two litres of water every day is important for your health, but emerging research in Japan suggests it’s possible to “activate” water to make it more supportive to health and even slow down signs of ageing.
Here to tell us more, the experts at functional bottle brand Emma Japan give us the lowdown on its new water-activating product, the Emma Bottle.
What is activated water?
“Activated water” is a term for water (such as tap water) that has been given antioxidant potential.
This is achieved by electrolysing drinking water using far-infrared vibrations to finely adjust the water molecules. According to studies in the far east, this supports the body by reducing oxidisation of the cells, promoting health and slowing the signs of ageing.
Emma Japan claim activated water is “safe, with no pollution or side effects, both human- and earth-friendly and is a field that is said to be further developed in the future”.
How does the Emma Bottle work?
Patented in Japan, the Emma Bottle has unique technology that is said to create activated water in just one hour of filling. Emma Japan explain how it works:
“Inside the bottle are tongs made with deep-sea sand, biomass carbon and coated with stainless steel. When water is added, the tongs resonate with an aluminium plate at the bottom of the bottle, which emit infrared vibrations into the water, activating it with healing properties,” they say.
“After one hour, oxidation removal starts, and after 19 hours, the oxidation removal potential (antioxidant potential) reaches its highest,” Emma Japan claim. “Once reached, the value will be maintained,” they say.
The Emma Bottle comes in three colours – pink, silver and black – and is available to pre-order in the UK now
Emma Japan report its biomass marker tests show the antioxidant amount is gained through the process, and its value is equivalent to 1 litre of vegetable juice.
This, according to the brand, improves health by making your body less prone to oxidation, therefore experiencing less fatigue, faster recovery and slower ageing.
